Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute Doctor Presents at Notable Scientific Conference Crown Point, Indiana: Released March 21, 2024

Dr. Aaron Ruter, a fellowship-trained doctor of podiatric medicine, participated in a panel discussion about current surgical techniques for nerve surgery, repair, and reconstruction at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Conference in February 2024. Dr. Ruter, DPM, spoke specifically on "Continued Pain Post-Total Ankle Replacement." As a panelist and participant, Dr. Ruter commented, “This was a great honor to speak at the ACFAS conference. The wealth of knowledge I gained from being surrounded by my colleagues was fantastic, and I hope to share my experiences and training again in the future.”

The ACFAS is the leading society for foot and ankle surgeons. Its members are doctors of podiatric medicine who have completed surgical residency programs and are certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. ACFAS members have the highest level of specialized training or board certification in foot and ankle surgery.

In addition to his membership in ACFAS, Dr. Ruter is a faculty and board member of The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons (AENS) and maintains numerous professional associations. He specializes in foot and ankle trauma, foot and ankle reconstruction, total ankle replacements, diabetic limb salvage and reconstruction, and diabetic nerve care and surgery. He practices in Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute's Crown Point office and is affiliated with several hospitals and surgery centers in Northwest Indiana.
