Specializing in the surgical and nonsurgical care of the shoulder, elbow, hand, and knee, including joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, and sports medicine, Dr. Paul Gruszka was a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who joined Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in 1991. To help patients improve their function and quality of life, Dr. Gruszka offered treatment of fractures and sports injuries; joint injections; knee and shoulder surgery, including joint replacement; and elbow and hand surgery, including carpal tunnel release.

After graduating from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, with his undergraduate degree in chemistry, Dr. Gruszka earned his medical degree at The University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois, where he also completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency.

When he was not seeing patients, Dr. Gruszka enjoyed cycling, scuba diving, exploring Chicago, following University of Notre Dame athletics, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Gruszka retired after many years of dedicated service, leaving a lasting impact on his patients, colleagues, and the Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute community.
