Daniela Matijevich, D.P.M., is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon specializing in diabetic wound care, limb salvage, forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, lower extremity trauma, and comprehensive foot and ankle care. She is committed to helping patients maintain mobility, reduce pain, and prevent complications through a combination of advanced surgical techniques, conservative treatment options, and patient-centered education.
A native of Schererville, Indiana, Dr. Matijevich joined Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in 2022 and is proud to serve the community she calls home. She has extensive nonsurgical and surgical training in all aspects of foot and ankle care and focuses on preventative treatment, working to ensure patients fully understand their condition and treatment options.

Dr. Matijevich earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and her Master of Science degree from Purdue University Northwest. She received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois.
She completed her podiatric medicine and surgery residency training through Franciscan Alliance and Midwestern University throughout Northwest Indiana. Her training emphasized both conservative care and surgical correction of forefoot and rearfoot deformities, complex lower extremity trauma, and diabetic limb salvage. In addition, she received specialized training at several high-volume wound care centers throughout Northwest Indiana, further strengthening her expertise in wound management and limb preservation. She is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Matijevich believes that patient education is an essential part of delivering exceptional care. By helping patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term health goals, she works to achieve the best possible outcomes while preserving function and quality of life.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Matijevich enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband and two young children.
