Rebecca B. Anderson, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. Her practice focuses on the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, as well as orthopedic trauma and joint-related conditions. She is dedicated to helping patients restore function, reduce pain, and return to their daily activities through personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs.
Dr. Anderson joined Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in 2008 and has extensive experience treating a wide range of upper extremity injuries and conditions. She is committed to working closely with patients to develop treatment strategies that emphasize both conservative care and, when necessary, advanced surgical intervention to achieve the best possible functional outcomes.

Dr. Anderson earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She then attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree.
Following medical school, Dr. Anderson completed her orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She then pursued advanced specialty training through an orthopedic hand surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, where she gained extensive experience treating complex conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
Dr. Anderson is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. She believes that patient education and collaboration are essential to achieving successful outcomes and works closely with each patient to ensure they understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery goals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Anderson enjoys biking and running to stay active.
