Dr. Aaron Ruter Earns Teaching Position With National Surgical Society
Dr. Aaron Ruter, fellowship-trained surgical podiatrist at Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, has been elected as a teaching faculty for a national medical society called The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons. In addition to teaching for the nerve association, he offers high-level diagnosis and treatment for lower extremity nerve conditions. He is available to offer advanced foot, ankle and lower extremity care at 12800 Mississippi Parkway, Suites 201A and 201B, in Crown Point and at The Crossings, 833 W. Since his election, Dr. Ruter now serves as teaching faculty for The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons, a national society for the collaborative study and medical research in the treatment of extremity nerve disease. Dr. Ruter is also a fellow and elected board member of The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons. Through both of his positions with the association, Ruter will help fellow surgeons improve in their skill and level of care as well as bring greater advancement to the field.

With extensive training and experience in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Ruter offers the latest, evidence-based treatments for injuries and conditions of the foot, ankle and lower extremity. His expertise includes foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, total ankle replacement, diabetic limb salvage and reconstruction and diabetic nerve care and surgery.
Ruter attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He underwent his surgical residency in rearfoot reconstruction at Midwestern University and Franciscan Alliance in Dyer, Indiana. Dr. Ruter also completed a fellowship at Indiana Foot & Ankle in Jasper, Indiana, with an emphasis in diabetic nerve care and surgery along with diabetic limb salvage and reconstruction. He is also board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
