To our patients, referring physicians, and the community that we serve:
In the long-term best interest of our patients, our staff, and the health of our community, we believe that we have an obligation to take the steps necessary to reduce the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus. To that end, we deeply regret that we will begin significantly restricting office hours beginning Wednesday, March 25th, and lasting until further notice.
This is in line with the Stay-At-Home order that was recently issued by Governor Holcomb.
What this means for our patients:
- Only patients in their 90-day post-operative period and those with conditions that require immediate attention will be scheduled. For all others, we will take your information and contact you when we are able to safely resume regular scheduling.
- We will be closing our offices located in Portage, Michigan City, Valparaiso, Schererville, Munster, and Knox. All patient office hours will be centralized into our Chesterton, Crown Point, and LaPorte locations.
- The urgent care center in our Portage office will be closed.
- All therapy patients will be contacted by our Therapy Department to coordinate your transition of care.
For those of you with appointments, you will be contacted shortly if you have not already heard from us. We are in the midst of unprecedented changes, so we appreciate your patience.
Despite all of this, please know that our physicians remain available to answer your questions or concerns. If you have a question or a change in your condition that you believe needs to be addressed urgently, please feel free to call us at (219) 921-1444.
Again, we are sorry that we are forced to take these measures. However, we believe that the sooner we are able to contain this virus, the sooner we can all get back to our lives.
With our sincerest appreciation -
The Physicians and Providers of Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute
