About Dr. Plank
Dr. Plank is a native of Northwest Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. Most recently, Dr. Plank has been a staff orthopedic surgeon at Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart, GA. During his time in the military Dr. Plank has operated on numerous service members including Army Rangers, Special Forces and Navy SEALS. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Plank was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in 2008 with the 86th Combat Support Hospital, made famous in the HBO documentary. "Baghdad ER". He performed over 300 procedures during his 6 month tour at the Army's premier tertiary facility in Iraq.
Dr. Plank resides in Crown Point with his wife and 2 daughters. His interests include running, fishing, high school sports, Notre Dame Football and spending time with his family.
He currently has privileges at Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Crown Point and practicing at LBJI's Crown Point office at the Franciscan Point St. Anthony Health Complex at 12800 Mississippi Parkway (east of I-65 and off of route 231).
