Dr. Thoma says
"My dad had a chronic illness when I was growing up. He had good doctors and he knew I liked helping people, so he encouraged me to become a doctor. When I started out in orthopedic surgery, joint replacements and minimally invasive techniques, particularly arthroscopy, were exploding onto the scene. It was an exciting time for me because I knew these new techniques would benefit my patients with less scarring, shorter recovery time and greater mobility. I was the first member of the practice to earn a subspecialty fellowship in foot and ankle surgery, too. Today, I enjoy shoulder and knee arthroscopy, total joint replacements and general orthopedic surgery."
